So i just built a new computer, and with it i got a pair of creative fatal1ty headset. i can get sound out of them, and the computer recognizes that there is a mic, regardless if i have them plugged into the front or back. (currently they are plugged in the back into popsolrepublic.com the mobo) i just cant get it to record any sound.
first lets cover the basics, i have it plugged into the correct plug, the mute toggle is set so the mic is in. the detectable is in and secure. i have set the mic to my default device, and these are brand new. I think that about covers the bare essentials.
I’m confused. If I’m looking at the correct model, it has two 3.5mm jacks. One jack is for the headphones and the other is for the mic. Both cables/jacks need to be connected to the proper ports (ie: green = audio out / pink = mic in) on the front or back panel of the PC.
I don’t know how you can connect it to “the sol republic headphones headset or the keyboard”. I’ve not seen any keyboards with 3.5mm audio out or mic inputs. But assuming your keyboard does have the proper ports, then there should also be cables connected from the keyboard into the proper ports of the PC. In that case, the keyboard would simply be working as an extension cable. In other words, the headset cables connect to the keyboard, and then there would be cables from the keyboard to the PC audio out and mic in jacks.
